English translation of a previous Dutch post on RSS readers.
There are a lot of blogposts on this blog recently. How can you manage to read just the posts that interest you? Good question. The answer: through for example this RSS feed.
RSS, or Really Simple Syndication is an easy way to stay on top of the latest news of your favourite websites. You no longer have to surf to internetpages to see if there were changes or news. Through RSS you get an automatic message when a webpage is updated. Every automatic message contains the header and a few sentences of the news post. When you click through you will reach the originating website. The most commonly used RSS readers are:
- Netvibes (free)
- Feedreader (Windows; free)
- RSSReader (Windows; free)
- Sharpreader (Windows; free)
- AmphetaDesk (Mac, Windows; free)
- NetNewsWire (Mac; free)
