While flying from Columbus to Detroit I was reading some kind of taxfree multimedia shopping magazine on gadgets, when my eye caught an advertisement about iWear from Vuzix. Or as I like to call it a “visor” (like the one La Forge from Startrek TNG weares it). What is it?
Welcome to the future of big-screen viewing on the go. Our iWear product family of high resolution Video Eyewear is the first ever to solve the main challenge when viewing high-resolution video and digital information on portable devices – the small screen. Worn like regular glasses, all of our iWear models provide a big screen viewing experience ranging from 44″ to 62″ virtual displays. Now you can connect to PCs, portable media players, gaming consoles, cell phones and laptops. – and get the big screen experience anywhere you go.
Seriously though, I didn’t believe the magazine was serious about it or this would be another crappy product. I mean … go figure … did you ever heard about Vuzix?!
Well you should have! I saw the thing in a store at Detroit Airport! I’ve got to have this unit! It really works! I’m talking about the Vuzix AV310, but for PC gaming (Flightsimulators and FPS) the Vuzix VR920 rocks too (read this Review for example).
And it’s just a mere $250 / €300 when you order it online. For European people (like moi), it can also be ordered in their UK webshop!
