WordPress MySQL on Ubuntu Keeps Crashing?
uh o … high priority call coming in
from another beautiful woman
with the following problem:“Error establishing database connection”
Not again … what could it be this time?!
Hacked? Course not! It’s an ultra badassrhyker super secure server. So what it could it be … hmzzz.
Bit of messing with settings … it’s been ages ago I done server administration … a ‘real’ nerd (I’m a poser ) can see that immediately from the history log but … problem solved AND cured the cause. At next crash? We just have to upgrade the VPS to compensate for future growth. Phewww.
And it was solved within half a hour! Let’s get down to the nuts and bolts:

Here’s the syntax from the console I used to fix the issue on our 1GB RAM droplet:
At command #58 these contents have to be appended to fstab file:
/swapfile none swap sw 0 0
WP/MySQL problem status: SOLVED!
Update: with htop we monitored the results over a longer period of time, and it indeed showed it was lack of RAM memory, as the swap was used and the server kept on running.
