What if … what if I lost all my Google Mail, Docs and other apps functionality? What would that mean to my business, to my dream lifestyle? Well … plain simply put? It would mean “GAME OVER”.
So I was thinking … how much is using Google’s functionality and my own data all worth to me?
$10,000s? I … I …. arghhh … panic! I gotta do something! Implement redundancy strategies, make offline backups, etc.
The solution? Google for Business: www.google.com/apps
I already knew it existed, but I always thought it’s only intend was for small enterprise users. And while that’s true, it IS great for the small business owner(s) as well. In my particular case, I like:
- Gmail for Business | 99.9% uptime and replication/backup, 25GB instead storage, Postini, no ads
- Google Docs for Business | 10GB storage instead of 1GB ->update 05jan12: be sure to checkout insync
- Google Chrome For Business | increased productivity and integration
- Google Apps extension | some interesting CRM integration
How much does it cost? …. brace yourself … $59 / 40 a year! Google Apps for Business here I come!
Update: infact … because I use virtually use ALL google services … I might as well become a Google Certified Reseller! Which is what I applied for as well!
