I’m a very happy user of a Nokia 6710 Navigator with Symbian S60 operating system. It supports all modern technologies and Apps: Skype, WhatsApp, eBuddy, etc. One thing I haven’t been able to do though is send SMS, while I was able to receive text messages. Yesterday I took care of that problem!
The problem — as turned out — is that the message center wasn’t correctly configured. There are 2 ways to go about that. Either go into messaging -> options -> settings -> text message -> sim message center. Something I haven’t been able to do.
Or to reset your phone to factory defaults:
- keycode: *#7780# … restores the .ini files from the ROM. Does not erase data (photos, videos, documents) or applications from third party.
- keycode: *#7370# … this option restores the original operating system from the ROM. Formats the C: partition (phone flash) and deletes all data including the memory card.
I chose the second option. Default unlock code: 12345. Things are working great again!
P.S. did forget to make a backup of my phone address list, so my entire WhatsApp dir is empty as well. Not a biggy, but in case you are wondering why I disappeared … that’s why!
